The industry will need to consider how it engages with personal service companies to manage the tension between maintaining a flexible workforce that can respond to changes in demand, while not breaching tax and employment legislation. The oil and gas industry continues to support hundreds of thousands of incredibly diverse and skilled roles, providing a significant contribution to the UK economy. However, it is recognised that there are many factors that will impact the composition of, and engagement with, the workforce going forward. It is imperative for the future of the industry, and the jobs it supports, that these factors are carefully managed.
