As in previous years, the map shows that the offshore workforce is literally spread across the country from the Shetland Islands to Cornwall, with the largest residential areas being the north east of Scotland, north east of England and the Central Belt, followed by the Norwich area. Seventeen per cent of the total had addresses outside the UK. The current pandemic highlighted again that a number of offshore workers live outside the UK, as it raised some challenges in mobilising personnel when lockdown first began. However, OGUK successfully made the case for offshore workers to be in the key worker category, enabling them to travel to and within the UK to mobilise.
