FACING INDUSTRY CHALLENGES

Oil & Gas UK comprises several Policy Directorates, each of which is tasked with working industry issues on behalf of our members. Our Directorates house a number of discussion forums and work groups, many technical in nature. Members are invited to nominate representatives from within their respective companies to the relevant forums and groups based on the inclusion criteria below. The forums provide the link between our member companies and Oil & Gas UK, ensuring that we are aware of members’ positions on particular issues and can provide guidance on policy options and proposals. The forums also act as a mechanism for specialist engagement with external stakeholders, for example, the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC), HM Treasury, Government agencies and the Health and Safety Executive. Any of the forums are open to representatives from member companies and offer outstanding opportunities to share expertise and to learn from best practice. Attendance at the forums encourages open dialogue across the industry and serves as a way to strengthen communication by allowing individuals to come together and meet their peers. The agendas for each forum and work group are member-led meaning that the topics discussed are decided by you.
