OIL & GAS UK EVENTS

Oil & Gas UK runs events to convey topical information, allow the exchange of ideas and also to provoke debate on the important issues of the day, whether technical, operational or corporate.

These events are run throughout the year in a variety of locations across the UK, most recently in Aberdeen, Newcastle and London. In 2011 Oil & Gas UK events attracted a record attendance of 7,000, with around 50 events ranging from small workshops held in-house up to large seminars and conferences attracting in the region of 100 – 250 people. The largest events are the Oil & Gas UK Awards and the PILOT Share Fair where more than 1,500 people attend over 2 days. All members of Oil & Gas UK are eligible for a 35% reduction on the full price of all of the events the association organises. BREAKFAST BRIEFINGS These early morning breakfast events provide opportunities for learning, sharing, lively debate and networking. The events are held in both Aberdeen and London attracting audiences encompassing operators, contractors and the wider supply chain such as finance, recruitment and legal professionals. Aberdeen typically draws around 450 people; London, a more specialist audience, of around 100. Following a networking breakfast, presentations by two or more guest speakers provide a topical and useful insight into the oil and gas industry and the current issues or challenges we face as an industry. SEMINARS Our highly topical seminars, which are run in Aberdeen, regularly attract over 100 delegates from diverse professional backgrounds, from both within and outside the Oil & Gas UK membership. The seminars are held at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre and usually take the format of a full-day event. Guest speakers are selected for their close involvement with the topic or expertise in the subject in hand.
