The mean oil in produced water concentration across the industry in 2014 was 12.8 mg/l. Thirteen of the 27 reporting operators have an average annual concentration lower than this (see Figure 21), while 26 reported concentrations below the OSPAR recommended limit of 30 mg/l. Operator Z had an average oil in water value of 30.9 mg/l in 2014, which is higher than the OSPAR recommended annual limit. However, none of operator Z’s individual monthly samples were higher than 80 mg/l, therefore not exceeding the OSPAR recommended monthly limit.
